Summer School on Speleology is an international short-course focuses on speleology and karst environment. It aims participant from all over the globe with various lecturers.

This event was held for the first time on 2018 and was successfully attended by more than 20 participants from various countries.

Lecture and Seminar

This program aims to deliver knowledge and experience from the expertise of speleology to the participant and student of summer school. Invited lecturers are the expert speleologists coming from broad horizon of multidiscipline science from all over the globe. Lecture and seminar will be held in the Universitas Gadjah Mada.

The seminar in Summer School on Speleology will be joined with Stasiun Nol Festival 2018. It is a festival or event concerned mainly to the cave cartography field. Following the succession of Stasiun Nol Festival 2016, this year this event will be rehears and inviting more stakeholders on cave mapping and cave cartography field. With crucial theme of the significance of cave maps, this seminar cannot be separated from the Summer School on Speleology.

Field Excursion

In order to increase the knowledge and understanding about the karst system, student will be brought closer to the field excursion. In this program, participant will be able to see, hear, feel, and experience the karst in all senses. Field excursion takes place at Museum Karst of Indonesia, Kalisuci Cave, Tabuhan Cave, and all along the Karst of Gunung Sewu. For 3 days, participants will experience the incredible karst system of Karst Gunung Sewu, a Global Geopark Network member.

Country Presentation

In every end of daily season, participant will be gathered into a forum where every single participant has to share their experience and knowledge about the karst in their own homeland. Sharing experience is expected to share the karst’s knowledge among the participants and bring all the participant together as the karst scientists.
